Passport to the Infinite Staircase

TPK Brewing Co. will be running multiple sessions of every remastered first edition D&D adventure from the recent Quests from the Infinite Staircase anthology release, along with an original level 20 capstone adventure written by GM Isaac. Sessions will run daily throughout the 9/6-9/15 event, with real-life loot awarded the night of 9/26 based on the number of sessions survived

Create your own game and win prizes!

8 teams of 1 or 2 designers will be tasked to create an original board game in 5 days.

  • Game must be for 4 players

  • Entry Fee:  $30 per team. 

  • Sign up link HERE

MONDAY SEPT 9:   Pick up your Game Kit between 4:00pm & 9:00pm 

When you come in you will be given a blank Game Design Kit from Ad Magic Print & Play.

  • Draw a Random Game Theme.  (You will draw 2, and choose one of the.)

  • Draw 3 Random Game Mechanics rules. Your game will be required to include at least 2 of those mechanics, but you can include others as you like beyond those 2.  

  • Games must be for 4 players. You will have 10 to 15 mins to teach the rules on Saturday Game Sessions.  8 rounds will be held)

 

FRIDAY SEPT 13, 4:00pm  - 8:00pm:  Designers will drop off their finished design.

SATURDAY SEPT 14, Game Play Testers, voting and awards.

Group 1:  10:30am - 2:30pm,  Sign up

  • Game play sessions with 8 sets of 4 players will play each game for a set amount of time in a round robin format.  After each game is played, players will fill out an evaluation form for the game they just finished.

  • Designers must be at the event all day to teach players about each game.

Once all the games have been played and scored, awards will be given for several categories such as Fan Favorite, Most Original Design, Closest to Theme and Mechanics, Best Overall Aesthetic, Best Rules/Teach, Most Fun Overall, etc…

Big Foot Adventure Cruise

What will you create? Bring your ideas, inventions, and projects to share or to get help on. Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To attend this program, you need to have basic computer skills and know how to use a computer with a mouse. If you are new to computers, tech help resources are available at the library.

at Battle Grounds Gaming Cafe, 3738 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland

You are invited to be the first people to play 4 brand new board game designed in just 5 days by local game designers/enthusiests. You will be asked to play 4 new games then jot down your thoughts for our team to determine the favorite game of the batch. Those teams will receive prizes and epic bragging rights! ($15.00 per participant.) Think of this as a Speed Date where the game is your date. One hour on each game then move to the next. Then each player will score each game. There will be 8 pods of 4 players who will play one game per hour. Your pod will be randomly assigned to play 4 of the games created in 4 rounds.
Session One Schedule:
Round 1: 10:30am
Round 2: 11:30am
Round 3: 12:30pm
Round 4: 1:30pm
Be sure to indicate if you have a partner you are wanting to play with. Each of you will need to RSVP separately to hold your place for the event.

Autumnal Equinox Star Party

at Rooster Rock State Park, Corbett, OR (Located 22 miles east of Portland on I-84 just east of Sandy River at exit 25)

and L.L. Stub Stewart State Park, Buxton, OR (Take US-26 West of Portland and turn right on OR-47)

Stargaze with fellow fans. Swap stargazing stories and scope out celestial sights with fellow astronomy lovers at this free event. Attendees can head to either Rooster Rock State Park or Stub Stewart State Park to participate, and astronomers of all skill levels are invited to join in on the fun (telescopes will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own). This Saturday, the event will double as an autumn equinox celebration, so bring your pumpkin-spiced cheer. Parking is $5/vehicle. Warm clothing and a flashlight with red light are recommended. RCA volunteers will bring telescopes, though personal telescopes and binoculars are welcome.

  • On the scheduled day of each OMSI Star Parties, it is suggested that interested visitors check back here for possible weather-related cancellations.

Rocky Horror Picture Show for Virgins
